Bahrain’s launch of the “world’s largest underwater theme park”

Bahrain announces the launch of the “world’s largest underwater theme park, covering an area of over 100,000 square meters and including a submerged Boeing 747”.

In an incredible move, Bahrain has recently unveiled it’s plans for an underwater theme park targeted at divers and benefiting a number of areas ranging from Bahrain’s now-kick-started eco-tourism sector to creating new data on marine ecology and biology in this part of the Arabian Gulf.

Chief attraction of the massive new dive site will be a decommissioned Boeing 747 accompanied by a series of eco-friendly artificial reef structures, some of which are slated to be replicas of traditional Bahraini pearl merchant’s houses.

The Boeing 747 which has been selected as the center piece has already arrived in The Kingdom and is eagerly watched by members of the diving community, waiting for the important day (rumoured to be the end of March 2019) on which it will be submerged.
